TURN - KEY ART DEPARTMENT

Filmscape is thrilled to offer art department services for pre-visualization and animation projects. We come to the table with a richness of storytelling, design, and set & prop art direction experience within our braintrust. We work with and employ top notch practitioners and artists who have an appetite to learn and integrate into virtual environments and productions. We are story-centric and work hand-in-hand with creative.  

Artwork at the story-creation stage can be very conceptual. As images evolve from 2D to 3D, we can help artists analyze and interpret storyboards and concept art in real 3D spaces. We can quickly mock up environments and designs to enable rapid prototyping and realization of ideas and scenes. We want to help artists translate their work into 3D spaces and help collaborators and creative stakeholders get aligned and excited about their projects as they comes to life.

Whether the project is a period-drama or a sci-fi space opera, we offer the tools and experience to visualize worlds and ground them in authentic environments that are cinematic and informed by architectural rules, styles, reality, and truth. 

SERVICES

Filmscape brings a physical sensibility to digital productions and provides story-infused visual material, feedback, and guidance. We provide artists and practitioners with access to physical, tangible material to help them understand the architecture and geography of a scene, with consideration to the scene’s purpose in the story and further integration into physical production later in the process. 

We are currently working in the following toolsets and methods: Traditional architectural drawing, freehand sketching, photoshop, Vectorworks, Modo, CAD, Maya, and Rhino. While not yet working in Unreal engine, we are committed to learning the program and handing off deliverables that can be easily optimized for the engine and our client’s current toolset preferences. When delivering 3D models, we are mindful to key into existing workflows and optimize geometry reduce lag in performance.
